The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) XII attended the 5-days Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training course conducted by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) XII on September 13 until September 17, 2021 via online Zoom platform.

An EOC is activated in response to an on-going incident or emergency. It can also be in the context of a threat during an event. EOC is a facility equipped with trained personnel and resources that coordinate and support the management of an incident or hazard-prone emergencies. It manages a link between the Incident Command System (ICS) and the Response Clusters.

MGB XII employees participated the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) seminar in coordination with the JGDC Occupational Safety and Health Consultancy on September 3, 2021 via online Zoom application.

At least 100 participants coming from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XII, DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENRO), DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENRO) and MGB Regional Offices attended the seminar.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) XII Regional Director Engr. Efren B. Carido, chairman of the Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB), presided the meeting in the Province of Cotabato on August 5, 2021 via online Zoom platform.

The agenda of the meeting highlights results and evaluation of three (3) Quarry Permit Application for Mountain Mix, Earthfill and Limestone and seven (7) Commercial Sand and Gravel (CSAG) permit applications in the province. An update on the CSAG complaint in the municipality of Matalam and the alleged illegal SAG extraction at Marbel River, Barangay Ilian Riverside, Matalam, Cotabato was discussed. The PMRB members also tackled permit holders with expired permits, database of existing permit holders, and inventory of mineral processing plants.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) XII employees registered to Philippine ID System (PhilSys) administered by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII personnel on August 13, 2021 held at MGB XII office. 

At least 60 employees of MGB XII had successfully registered to PhilSys. Prior to the registration date, MGB XII personnel were given a form to fill out. Upon registration, individual employees underwent screening for the filled-in forms then proceed to PSA XII staff counter for validation of information. It is observed that PhilSys ID specifies personal information in two categories: the demographic data and the biometrics data.
