Based on PAGASA’s weather forecast the SOCCSKSARGEN region will be experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought by Intertropical Convergence Zone affecting the whole of Mindanao. Moderate to heavy rains experienced in the region may trigger landslides in elevated and mountainous areas, while flood may be experienced within low-lying areas adjacent to rivers. Flash flood is also possible along narrow creeks and rivers.

Anent to this, this Office encourages the Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices (LDRRMOs) in the region to refer to the MGB-XII geohazard maps and information in identifying safe areas for evacuation and evacuation routes. Utilization of these maps and information in the conduct of information drives to inform residents living in geologically hazardous areas to take precautionary measures is encouraged.

If you need more information and assistance on this matter, please feel free to contact us through our telephone numbers (083) 228-6130 or 228-6131.
