The Mines and Geosciences Bureau XII conducted a 3-Day Geographic Information System (GIS) Training for VRA Exposure Maps, Geological Quadrangle Maps, and Mining Tenement Maps to personnel of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) - Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and Energy (MENRE) on August 2-4, 2022, held in General Santos City.

MGB XII in coordination with MENRE-Mines and Geosciences Services (MGS) served as a resource speakers and hands-on trainers in capacitating BARMM-MENRE technical personnel composed of geologists, cartographers, and GIS specialist. The training served as a venue in sharing relevant geological and information technology knowledge, transferring technical skills and assisting them on the current GIS platforms, databases, and applications where they may utilize and apply recent innovations in their respective activities and projects.

During the activity, the MGB XII resource speakers were Tristan E. Dela Cruz, Geologist II, who presented VRA exposure Maps and Geological Quadrangle Maps, Geoffrey A. Quinones, Cartographer II, on VRA Exposure Maps, Antonio A. Calungsod, Cartographer II, on Mining Tenement Maps, Erick John G. Tamayo, Information System Analyst II, on VRA Exposure Maps and Dennis N. Cortez, Information Assistant II, on Geological Quadrangle Maps.
