The Mines and Geociences Bureau XII donated gallons of alcohol, boxes of face mask and a thermal scanner to Esimos Cataluna Elementary School in support of the Department of Education campaign dubbed as Brigada Eskewela in Koronadal City.

MGB XII personnel was welcomed by Ms. Farnaida A. Kawit, the School Head and Ms. Zoraida Lucman Abubacar from DepEd Koronadal City Division. Ms. Kawit reiterated the needs of the school for improvement on the construction of the clinic and fencing.

 Brigada Eskwela or School Brigade, also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week, is a nationwide voluntary effort that was first established in 2003. DepEd aims to address resource gaps faced by the Department through strengthening partnerships with the local communities.

Since the pandemic had barred schools to conduct “Bayanihan” activities that brings together parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, teachers, students, and individuals, different agencies initiated in donating items and equipments that may help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

A total of 188 student learners was registered in the school. Ms. Kawit expressed her gratitude to the donations given by MGB as well as the donations of other agencies to their school.
