The Mines and Geosciences Bureau XII key personnel convened to discuss the Bureaus’ Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) drafts for its the finalization in Koronadal City.

The Public Service Continuity Plan (PSCP) is a document containing strategies and mechanism of a government agency/ public sector organization that ensures a continuous delivery of public services amidst any disruption based on the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 33, s 2018.

Under NDRRMC Memorandum No. 33, s 2018, all government member agencies of the DRRM councils at all levels and other government departments, offices, bureaus, services, units, and instrumentalities must develop their own PSCP.

MGB XII PSCP provides operational actions and safety protocol during an emergency, disaster or any disruptions that may hamper the public services rendered by the Bureau. PSCP ensures a continuity plan for a quality service for the general public. It is also undertaken for a continual improvement and shall also focus on sustainability and resilience.

MGB XII Regional Director Engr. Efren B. Carido instructed to fast track the completion of the PSCP plan as it is vital to the continuity of public services. During the meeting, Supervising Geologist Ariel Austin A. Acosta presented a walk-through of the PSCP and the accomplished annexes including Policy Statements, Assumptions, Mission Essential Functions, Activation Criteria, Procedures and Authority, Continuity Strategies, Resource Requirements and Communication Procedures.

Engr. Carido led the Public Service Continuity Management (PSCM) as the Head of Agency while the Division Chiefs were under the Senior Leadership. There are also three Continuity Coordinators and Continuity Planning Team which includes representatives from each division.

PSCP is important to an organization to ensure continued performance of its essential functions. Its main goal is to anticipate document what is needed to keep an organization afloat at times of emergency or disasters.
