The Mines and Geosciences Bureau XII renewed its International Organization for Standard (ISO) certification through the Russian Register on October 13-14, 2021, in Koronadal City.
The Russian Register external auditors Juvie Dela Cruz and Jogee Dela Cruz assessed the performance of MGB XII’s Integrated Management System on its requirements of the standards for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Safety and Health Management System).

With its alignment to the QMS, the office is committed to satisfy the customer’s needs, deliver quality products and services, and comply with its legal obligations. The integration of ISO 14001:2015 into MGBXII’s operational processes also enhances its environmental protection responsibilities and performance in a systematic manner.
The two-day re-certification audit started with an opening meeting with MGB XII Regional Director Engr. Efren B. Carido, Russian Register external auditors, Division and Section Chiefs, internal auditors, and the process owners.
Lead Safety Officer Mark Ycon presented a walkthrough of MGB XII’s Safety and Health objectives and targets, potential hazards and risks in the office, safety and health programs and procedures. The audit team intricately assessed evidence related with ISO compliances and procedures such as context of the organization, scope of the integrated management system, Quality Environment Safety and Health Management (QESHM) Policy and Objectives and control of externally provided services by the Mine Management, Geosciences, Mine Safety, Environmental and Social Development and Finance and Administrative Divisions.
Furthermore, the audit team validated the documented information provided by the Management Representative MMD OIC-Chief Engr. John Mikel P. Ansao, Ms. Malyn Jimenez (Document Controller) and Internal Auditors led by Engr. Maimona A. Mamao particularly on the procedures, risk registers, legal compliances, non-conformities and corrective actions.

Some of the positive findings stated were the leadership and commitment of the top management and members of the organization that are noteworthy and evident, adequate infrastructure resources and implementation of a strict compliance on COVID-19 safety protocols for clients and its personnel.
The Russian Register concluded that MGB XII is granted with a re-certification of IMS.
