MGB XII employees participated the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) seminar in coordination with the JGDC Occupational Safety and Health Consultancy on September 3, 2021 via online Zoom application.
At least 100 participants coming from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XII, DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENRO), DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENRO) and MGB Regional Offices attended the seminar.
The OSH seminar was in accordance with the CSC-DOH-DOLE Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 series of 2020 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Public Sectors. It focuses on the institutionalization of occupational health and safety in the public sector and government workplaces, identifies and delineates roles and responsibilities of lead agencies and the establishment of safety and health committees within government agencies.
Engr. Juvie Dela Cruz, a certified OSH Practitioner from JGDC OSH Consultancy facilitated the said seminar. He encouraged the promotion of OSH program through communication plan, feedback mechanism, and OSH-related initiatives. Engr. Dela Cruz also highlighted the significance of an OSH seminar/ training in an organization. He comprehensively discussed topics about the introduction and general concepts of OSH, basic safety rules and measures, hazards identification, risk assessment and control (HIRAC), and administrative OSH requirements.
The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) seminar is one of the most important components in an organization’s management system. It gives employees an opportunity to learn in performing their jobs safely and productively especially during this time of pandemic.
