The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) XII employees registered to Philippine ID System (PhilSys) administered by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) XII personnel on August 13, 2021 held at MGB XII office.
At least 60 employees of MGB XII had successfully registered to PhilSys. Prior to the registration date, MGB XII personnel were given a form to fill out. Upon registration, individual employees underwent screening for the filled-in forms then proceed to PSA XII staff counter for validation of information. It is observed that PhilSys ID specifies personal information in two categories: the demographic data and the biometrics data.
The demographic data includes name, sex, birth date and place, blood type, address, residency, marital status and an optional contact information while biometrics data includes photograph, iris scan, and full fingerprints.
To implement the basic safety protocol of the office such social distancing and the proper wearing of mask/ face shield, each division was given an allotted time to accomplish their staff registration. The PhilSys ID will be delivered on the permanent address stated in the form.
PhilSys ID was established under Republic Act No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System Act. It is the government’s central identification platform for all citizen and resident aliens of the Philippines. According to PSA, the PhilSys ID aims to provide a valid proof of identity for all citizens. It can simplify public and private transactions, social and economic platform in the promotion of seamless service delivery, enhancing administrative governance, reducing corruption, strengthening financial inclusion, and promoting ease of doing business.
MGB XII encourages the community to start registering for a PhilSys ID. A good innovation such as PhilSys ID will uplift the national interests of the Filipino people.
