With “Sama-Samang Pagkilos, Sama-Samang Paghilom, Ikaw, Ako, Tayo ang Kalikasan” as the theme for this year, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau XII scheduled several activities in celebration of June as Philippine Environment Month. Virtual Turo, one of the premier activities, is an online video production that aims to widen the understanding of the community on various relevant topics like disaster mitigation and climate change. MGB XII personnel focused discussions on landslide and flooding, climate change and phases of mining. This activity is intended to support students who are using digital platforms in learning.

On June 10, 2021, MGB XII commemorated the 34th DENR Anniversary with a tribute video showcasing the continuous service and implementation of MGB XII’s programs amid the COVID-19 crisis. An online contest was also launched in line with the anniversary where only DENR employees joined.

A Webinar on Strengthening Strategies towards a Resilient Community on June 22, 2021 was participated by personnel of the DENR Provincial- and Community Environment and Natural Resources Office(P/CENRO), other government agencies and, stakeholders.

A total of 16 bikers will participate in a bike parade dubbed on June 23, 2021. The bikers will distribute MGB XII’s IEC materials to schools, barangay halls and other government agencies. The said activity will be in coordination with the City Traffic Management Office. MGB XII’s face to face activities ensure that basic safety protocols are observed.

Oplan:ReviveSkyGarden is a continuous effort of MGB XII to Urban Gardening. It is located at the rooftop of the bureau where ornamental plants grow, and vegetative crops are harvested since its launching last year. This year’s aim is planting more crops and add ornamental plants while landscaping the area. The said activity is in line with the celebration of the Philippine Arbor Day.
