The Mines and Geosciences Bureau XII conducted a 1-day capacity building and training for small scale miners, operators, and contractors in coordination with Maguan Clan Small Scale Miners Association Inc. (MCSSMAI) on March 1, 2021 in Barangay Poblacion, T’Boli, South Cotabato.
Engr. Mikel P. Ansao, MGB XII OIC-Mine Management Division together with Ma. Lyn E. Gimenez, Economist II, Engr. Aizah Lopez, Engineer III, and Engr. Wynlove C. Galagaran, Engineer II encouraged the participants to strengthen their reporting system. The activity aimed to impart and provide the Small-Scale Mining sector a better understanding and preparation of necessary reports effectively.
Engr. Ansao pointed out the importance of reports submitted to the office. He said that the efforts of the small-scale mining industry in Region XII shall be positively recognized through their properly and correctly submitted reports.
Engr. Lopez oriented the participants on the DENR Administrative Order 2015-03 or the revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 7076, known as the “People’s Small-Scale Mining Act of 1991," salient features of various mining laws, mining-related permits, and clearances.
Ms. Gimenez urged the participants to submit reportorial requirements with accurate information, complete data filled in and in a timely manner. She guided the participants through a workshop on how to properly accomplish the forms such as the MGB form 29-15 s. 2000 or Quarterly Report on Production and Sales of Small-Scale and Metallic Primary Gold and MGB 29-17 s. 2000 or the Integrated Annual Report for Small-Scale Mining Permittees.
MCSSMAI was awarded the first Small-Scale Mining Contract (SSMC) in Region XII on March 12, 2019 located within the twenty (20) hectares declared People's Small-Scale Mining Area (PSSMA)/Minahang Bayan (MB) in Sitio Tunnel, Barangay Kematu, T’boli, South Cotabato.
